LIEFDEHUIS

Liefdehuis is a digital collage, photo-etch piece. I focused on exploring my space, and how that space defines me. The basic human need for space and the navigation of that space is a major defining point in interpreting ourselves. I used my ancestry as a main force for this piece and what the spaces around me really mean. The edition was initially printed in black and white directly following the photo-etch. Afterwards, I experimented and reworked the plate over and over, etching it so much that it began to disappear and give more depth. These experiments turned into artist proofs.
